I'm fairly certain this is a female judging by the egg tube but some have told me the tube looked "hooked" like a male. What do you guys and gals think? Thanks and ton!

P.s. fish is around 3.25 to 3.5 inches currently

I think it is a male because of the low level of bearding, strong colors for the size, and colorful anal fin.
But that said I’ve been wrong before!

Thanks for the reply. I was convinced it was female til just recently. The strong/early coloring made me think male as well. It's also very dominate in the tank but I've seen where female terrors can be as big of a brute as the males. I had it with a male blue acara and thought they were trying to spawn (seems early for that but I've seen it happen with fish this size recently) but maybe they were establishing rank. Thanks for the help my friend

Sorry but I would have to disagree with Deadeye Deadeye on this one. The ovipositer is the reason. A male would have a much smaller and sharper tube. My money would be on it being female.

I agree.

A couple other traits somewhat visible in the OPs photo
female Andinoacara (like the one above) have dorsal fins only extend about half way into the caudal, and the forehead slope is more gradual.
Whereas a male dorsal will extand almost (and sometimes) to the end of the caudal, and head profile much more steep.

These of course are not GTs, but A coerleopunctatus but these traits are general throughout the genus.
I find colors are not reliable for determining sex in many cases.
