What size tank do these guys require. I'm not really looking into getting one but my lfs has one and I was just wondering. I've seen 180 as tank sizes online but was thinking that would be a LITTLE small for an eel over 4ft.

180...a 210g would be best most likely...that would be more than enough room.

You have to realize that these fish spend most of the day curled up in a tiny cave.

That being said, more room is always better. Cant wait to get mine...it will be going into a 240g. - Hopefully within the year.

Really, a 180 would work? What would be the MINIMUM tank size for it then?

180g. And barely.

Like I said. Preferably a 210 minimum.

240g would most likely be "perfect". IMO, just a little more space to build up a rock cave for a fish like that which will require a fairly large well built one.

GL with yours.
