What is the best starter test kit for a 20 Gallon Nano reef? I have found a few on E-bay and what specific tests should it contain?

True that but my closest credible pet shop is 50 miles away.

i would get an all around test kit, like API master marine test kit, for nitrates and trites ammonia and pH. and one for alkalinity and for calcium and phosphates, trace elements should not be problem with regular water changes and goos marine salt.

Salifert test kits are the best hands down. You can order them from www.marinedepot.com I have used them for years with no problem.
