First off, happy new years! Secondly, I've got some cash to spend on some fish right now. I've decided to buy two schools of tetra's. My local petsmart has cardinals on sale for 1$, so im going to buy 10. My question is, what would be a good choice for a second type. I believe I have a good solid knowledge of most tetras, but I have no actual experience with any except neons and buenos aires, which I would not like to have again. Any one have any resonable ideas, things like Congo tetras won't work because they are a little too pricy, but any reasonably priced tetras would be great. Thanks! Oh and btw they'd go in a 55.

Pets art also had Columbian Tetras for a buck. They are one of my favorites.

Lemon Tetras are pretty nice to look at. And I think Petsmart sells them too.

I agree, cardinals are tough to keep for me, i keep loosing them so finally quit trying. Columbian tetras are nice, lemons also are nice but my favorite in my tank right now are my diamond tetras

I really like columbians too, but I heard they can be fin nippers, is this true? Lemon tetras are nice I'll look into those a little more.

Hopefully I can have some luck with my cardinals, I've never tried them since I didn't want to risk 5 dollars per fish, but now that their only a buck, its worth a shot, I can get 10 for the price of 2.

Im not a big fan of the red-belly x-rays, they just don't look that cool to me.

I Think I'm going to get the Colombian tetra to go with the cardinal tetra, I'll end up paying 20 dollars for something that would usually cost like 95 dollars!
