i am planing on getting a 29 gallon tank with some dwarf gourami in it and i was wondering on what kind of filtration to get for it. i was going to get one of the tetra tech with a built in heater are they any good? also, what kind of filtration would you recommend for a 10 gallon with some dwarf puffers in is.

The only HOB's I use or recommend are Hagen's AquaClear line.
A AC30 would be just dandy!:D

The only other brand I would mention is Marinelands Penguins & Emperor, BUT!...
But only for the bio-wheel, but then I modify my AC's with bio-wheels:headbang2

That bio-wheel mod for the aquaclears make them very complete filters and low maintence cost ontop of that.

I use emp 400's on both of my wife's 29 gallon tanks, they work very well.

Stay away from the penguin line. They're cheaper, but very problematic.

Hung on back filters to avoid:
AquaTec, Whisper, Hydor, and Penguin.

I haven't had a problem with my Penguin 350s at all, but I keep them clean and give them some TLC, but still will be getting a sump in the future.
