tetra wavemaker powerhead wavemaker and archerfish

i know that archers are surface feeders so if i have one of the very small wave makers to stimulate a coastal mangrove swamp will he be fine? i havent got one yet tho becuase archers are hard to find in socal

wat i mean is will the archer fish still be able to shoot down crickets and flys from branches if there are very very small waves from a wavemaking powerhead in the tank or will i have to put frozen food on the surface ?
