I'm a rep for dog/cat food and am in several Petsmart's and Petco's a day. I always check out the aquatics section while I'm in there. Usually look at the fish to see if there's anything out of the ordinary, but usually check out the aisles to see if anything is being clearanced too. Petsmart just had a huge reset and had tons of food on clearance. I probably bought a few hundred dollars of various foods for next to nothing over the course of the last couple of weeks.
Today, I was checking things out and found a Tetra Whisper 20 HOB filter clearanced for $10. Seemed like a good buy. I ended up grabbing a few male and female guppys too.
I had an empty 5g at home - figured 5 guppys in a 5g with a filter good for 20g would make an ok breeding tank. I threw a bunch of old plastic plants in it. The guppys seem quite happy and soon I'll have some treats for my cichlids.
Yeah...this was a pointless post...I was just excited to find a filter for $10.
