Tetracanthus size?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
8 inches on average and around 10-11 being the biggest it could possibly get

a 40 breeder would work for a single one but you would need to way overfilter it and youd be doing alot of w/c. comfortably 55 and over is good

Thanks for the help guys. Duane-yours look really nice. Were you able to get a little money for the fry?

I will be getting a 40 breeder soon and was thinking about getting a grammodes for it, but I saw a tetracanthus at my lfs and it got me thinking. It's just a little one inch guy, but he has more blue in his fins than I've noticed any having in the past so I think he might be a good choice. Does the blue tend to fade as they get bigger?

The blue seems to be a reaction to different forms of light, at least with mine.
My favorite way to move fry, is to trade fish with other aquarists, I usually BAP some, and take some fry to the local aquarium society auctions, selling is really not a priority.
