I'm looking for a sliding front enclosure for my kingsnake since he doesn't appreciate being picked up from above and have been wondering about the Tetrafauna sliding front enclosures. Would one be any good for a snake? Ive been looking at the one that Is about the size of a 20 long. My lrs keeps all their snakes in either a display rack or exo terra tanks with locks on them. I worry about him pushing the exo terra doors open enough to escape. Any thoughts?

They seem to be very overpriced for what they are not to mention it's essentially like keeping the snake in an aquarium which brings on a bunch of issues.

Also, the Exo Terra doors lock in place & can't be opened unless you turn the little knob on the front; the locks on the cages at the LRS are to keep people out rather than to keep the animals in.

Personally, I would opt for something like these cages as they offer the snake a better sense of security and are better at retaining heat & humidity than a glass enclosure; the 24" x 12" x 12" option on there would be perfect for your snake. Of course then, you should have a more local vendor of that style of caging as most reptile shows have at least one vendor selling this style of cage.

I tried a tank with only one open side and my king freaked out. He seems to enjoy looking out and watching everybody through the glass that's why I was asking about the tetra fauna ones. Besides I've kept every reptile I own in an aquarium and never had an issue except for the top opening being the only access point. If the exo terra locks security maybe I'll try and find one of their new low enclosures. I think they have a 36x12x12. Do you think that would work?
