i have a full sized pignose puffer
i want it to have a tank mate
but the t hing is, i have seen this beast eat a gold fish, it slices the body of a fish in half with one bite!
is there anything i can put with this animal that wont kill it or it wont kill?

From what I've read, no, it will try to eat/kill whatever you put in with it. That being said we've all read post on here with unusual combos/tank mates. I've seen some at my LFS a few months back. They were attacking each other to the point of death. Pretty nasty fish.

I have a T miurus (Congo Puffer--very similar species) & he won't have anything to do with snails. You could try a big, apple snail. Just keep checking to see if it's alive, because a big, dead snail can really foul your tank. Feed it too.

guess tank size plays a large part. i have noticed w/ my fahaka, that it does not go out of its way to kill so maybe a top water fish would work? mine only kills fish that spend too much time in his space

These fish attack the bellies of fish from below.

so do most puffers but if the tank is large enuf i dont think that shuold pose an issue. and if its not than he should stay species tank. i have a 6x2 for mine that houses fahaka, pleco, TF barbs(good choice there fast) , african knife which is puffers buddy the even share food, and a striped rapheal cat i think been a few weeks since i seen it.

cichlids are a puffer target, brave enuf to stay not smart enuf to leave before the death starts

my arrowhead wouldnt live with anything, and wouldnt let anything live..theres no escaping these guys, well equipped too they dont just tear fins they take out chunks of flesh...
