Wasn't sure where to ask, but are rummynose tetras and BN plecos known jumpers? Plan on setting up an open top tank with these two species of fish.

Nope. I've kept both in open topped tanks with no problem.

I don't know anything about those particular plecos, but I know if I didn't have a lid my common plec would be dried out on the floor... he really tries to get some air sometimes.

i haven't kept my BN plecos without a lid, but i know i used to have a 8" common pleco a few years ago that jumped out, and by the time i found him, he was ded X(. right now i have a 6" or so common pleco, but im looking to sell/give (possibley to a store who accepts them) because i already have 4 longfin albino BN plecos.

any fish can jump. some are just more prone to do so. I have an open top with wild discus, festivums, lemon tetras and bn pleco. so far 9 months and all is well. rummies are not known to be jumpers, but it can happen. I would love a school of hatchet's but those fish don't jump, they fly.

I have had BN jump up and hit the glass before so I would say they definitely could jump out but they seemed to grow out of the jumping as they matured. Usually they would just dart up to the surface not all the way out.
