so i bought like 13 small buenos aires tetras for my 150 tall, and i reacently heard they will eat my plants... if thisistrue then they are going to become Gar/catfish food. i love my plants i hadone amazon sword who was so big i split it into 2 still quite large plants, i also have 3 anubias', some hermanian swords, wisteria, money wort, and some very young telanthera sprouts, the whole point of adding these fish was to spice up my tank with movement and color in contrast to my slow moving snakeskin gouramies and similar relaxed fish. would giant danios be a better choice? maybe some variety of rainbow fish? i want schooling fish with lots of motion, that WONT eat my plants

the more i read the more i regret buying all these little demons... apparently they will turn into little lawn mowers. i need sugestions on other fish that are fast and colorful that wont eat my plants

While BA tetras appreciate some vegetable matter in their diet, they are omnivorous. Providing a good quality tropical flake food along with bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, mosquito larvae, etc will provide enough for them that your plants should be safe. Keep in mind that this species is very active and fast-growing. This means that they require a greater food intake than other less active tetra species.

I have 10 neon tetras, 9 glo-fish, 4 glo-tetras, 10 platies, 3 Oto catfish, 4 Siamese algae eaters, 6 dwarf gouramis, 2 honey gouramis, 3 black khuli loaches, 2 plecos, 2 green tiger barbs, 1 tiger barb, 3 other fish (forgot the species), 2 vampire shrimp, 1 bamboo shrimp, 6 ghost shrimp, 2 nerite snails and 2 mystery snails.....none of them eat any of my plants at all. In fact my plants are growing like crazy, much better and faster then I expected. Oh yeah I also forgot I have a badass male betta as well.

thank you, that is fine with me, i dont expect them all to make it anyway, iv got a gar and a bullhead in there with them so i figure a few will vanish, would some giant danios be a good mix? like 5-6? or the rainbows like i said b4?

you know your glofish are just albino danios stained as an egg right?, but any ways i know neons dont eat plants cuz iv kept them in fully planted tanks b4, but they wont work for me right now bcuz i have a gar and a green eard sun fish and quite a few other fish that would love to munch on some neons, same goes for platies and the dwarfs and honeys, all of my gouramis are 5-6 inches, even tho they are slow, nuthing will mess with them
