So I was wondering can a Texas cichlid and parrot cichlid spawn together I think I've heard of them doing this before but I'm kinda new to Texas cichlids. My Texas and my parrot have been acting funny lately there always together in one part of the tank and both of them stand up to my other fish in the tank and they just won't leave each other and there always camping out in these big terocata pots I have in the tank just looking for a little input thank you

Yeah they can spawn together. The result would likely be a red Texas cichlid. Imo, Texas cichlids will breed with anything.

Thanks for the replys much appreciated now does anyone know what size they breed around right now there both like 4 inches maybe a tad smaller

4 inch is easily big enough for them to breed. Texas will breed at 3 inch or sometimes even less. Sounds like yours will be breeding anytime soon.

Yup, agree with Andy, they start small.

If I do get fry will they turn out to be a set thing I know the parrot is a hybrid and I know red Texas come from flowerhorn and a Texas will it be something along those lines

The resulting F1 fry will be a hybrid cross, with most looking like a texas. Not something I would personally waste my time with, especially if the BP is the typical squished head deformed looking type. I don't even keep the fry from the pair that I posted above.

Okay cool thank you for your great info and quick response much appreciated
