hey guys i jsut got a couple Texas Chilids wondering what is a good tank mate for them besides other chilids kinda thinking smaller fish with a max size of 3-4 inches?

the texas cichlids get decent size and are pretty aggressive, i would stay away from smaller fish so you are not picking peices out every day. trimacs in my experiance have done ok with them. if you want smaller fish, try and keep lots of hiding places for them that the texas cichlids cant fit in.

My Jewels (3") B Smack my texas if he gets in their zone, I have even seen my two jewels work together and punk my 8" Oscar. My texas also harasses my 5" Jack dempsy.

The size of the tank is needed for me to give accurate suggestions of tank mates. Also are they Cyanoguttatus or Carpintis?

just as an FYI, Texas cichlid and Convict cichlids are good companions, but maybe too good ... I still have about a dozen "TexaCons" as a result ...
