Hey guy's ,

I have a set of new cichlids. My TX and my red jewel cichlid as a pair. Always together and almost diging holes in the rocks. They have become good buddy's and seem to chase the other fish off. The bigger on is the boss, Is this a sign of breeding? BTW both are about 2 inchs.

Kind of a newbie to the cichlids

most likely nothing will result since these fish aren't even from the same continent

jewel cichlids are african cichlids and texas are american cichlids but i dont think you will get any fry from this, maybe 99.99% chance it wont.

I kept 2 f green jewels 6 months with male fire mouth together and your right nothing at all . All adults .

At time I thought cichlid was a cichlid and made no difference from what country

thnx cichla- I didn't know that jewels are african. I never looked into them and assumed that they were SA since Midnight always gets them.

Think Jewel cichlids as convict cichlids in African verison.

most chances nothing wil happen, theyre just a little confused right now ;)
