Texas cichlid male or female?

Hey male or female what u think guys? It's about 4 to 5 inches by a guess.

Lack of dorsal spot and cranial profile suggest male.

Agree with Stanzzzz7, looks like a young male, although the male profile has not quite develop yet.

Is it the only cichlid in the tank? Sometimes, if there is another more dominant male cichlid in the tank, a male profile may not develop.

so I have a 2" texas cichlid it has spots down its sides does this make it a male?

The tank has all males I'm hoping. There is a more dominant Gt and JD in the tank. They are all around the same size though
