Texas Cichlid Nuchal...when?

I would like to know when, either at what age or size, did your texas cichlid begin to develop a nuchal hump? I understand there are a alot of factors in determining nuchal hump development. I just want to know when yours did.

When mine hit about 6" his hump appeared. The bigger and more dominant he became, the larger his hump grew. If yours is dominant it will appear. Sometimes a more assertive fish can force a Tex to submit, then its hump will shrink.

Cool, good to know. What if said Texas is housed with just a clown loach? Will he feel dominant enough to Hump out?

He should. Then again he might never grow one.

Mine started showing his at around 7 in. He's been alone in his tank for a long time.
