Texas Cichlid wound? Or sick?

I just picked this guy up on a trade and I'm not sure if this is thing on his side is a wound or is it some sort of sickness?

He's in my 220 right now and he seems fine. When I first saw him, he was in a temp tank but prior to that he was in a 55 with a female FH. I'm not sure how long he's been out of the FH tank, but my first guess is that she took a chunk out of him before he moved.

While he was out of the tank clean the area with some peroxid and the cover the wound with some neosporin or similar antibiotic onitment. He'll heal right up.

So it's definitely a wound of some sort? Probably caused by another fish?

I can't say definatly but to me it looks like a wound.

yeah looks like a wound, that's funny My carpintis ALWAYS gets tagged in that same spot on both sides whenever the jags decide to be mean.
