Texas cichlid

Does a female texas not carpintis but Texas get the blk spot on the dorsil also.I just bought one from lfs $15 about 6'' .There is no spot.Tried to vent but just not sure.I think female

yes all of them should show black on dorsal if female

I just got it home and then tried to vent so it pretty spooked.I will post pictures tomarrow if I dont take it back.I really was hoping for a female so I could breed it with my male midas.I just got

Ok I might be wronge .Once I got her home and got her in a tank 82 dergress and put a known female next to her she has a light but obvious black mrk in the dorsil fin,does not show in photo but I out lined where it is and I think maybe carpintis.Please help what do you think

i would say carpintis, true texas would have more finer spots

Thank you .That is what I thought and Texas is grayish blue.But the fish is yellow green.I have it in with all my Carpintis and It is the same color

Here's a picture of her in wth my Carpintis Chariel's.Just doesnt look Texas to me.
