It seems recently there have been a lot of questions about Texas cichlids, and threads about their different species. Is it just me or are they becomming more popular? In any case, I purchased a Texas a while back ago, and at the time did not know so many species were known as Texas cichlids.

I am now curious as to what species I have exactly now that I know there are many species with the common Texas name. My Texas has a gray background with large bluish/silver pearls and has no lines of color near his face. He was obtained through an LFS and as such, would assume he is the most common species here in the US.

With that information said, he's relatively young and my camera is relatively bad, so I can put a pic up, but frankly don't know how good it will be. I will try to get a good one soon to be sure however.

And thank you in advance :)
