Ok, so I'm a newb with the FHs and as I'm reading through this forum, I'm seeing a lot posts and topics that are related to Texas Cichlids. Just out of curiosity.... Is there a specific reason or relationship between the 2? Successful tankmates? Successful breeding? Whatever? Also one of the reasons it's sparking my interest is because I coincidentally have a 4 inch blue kamfa currently in a 72 bowfront with a 1.5 inch Texas... and so far, so good.

Flowerhorn in general don't make great tankmates regardless of species. Flowerhorn is a CA Hybrid Cichlid so it can breed with Texas which is how some Red Texas come about. Red Texas is another popular hyrbid so that might be why you see it being common in this forum as its specific to Cichlid Hybrids.
