Well as you can see the darker female has i believe carpentas in her not all texas and she does have the dark dorsal were the male does not ..I must confess i am definatly not an expert with the texas i have just recently started keeping them about a year maybe less got them for the beauty and as a tough dither for my peacock bass .....Not sure if there was confusion but a couple guys were saying i had two males while i took spawning shots.And i must say the females egg tube did kind of have a sharp look to it .....hungryhomer;4557603; said:does your pair show the typical characturistics of male and female,like the dark spot on the dorsal,nuchal hump,fin extensions etc.mine are confusing each showing darkened areas on the dorsal,one with fin extensions and both with pointed genitalia,mind you the latter not being fully extended may change.
