How fast to Texas Cichlids grow?

they grow fairly quick

Is there a difference between the green and regular texas? I think I have a green, and he is growing slow.

Should be no difference in growth rate.

All depends on Water Quality and Foods.

I get a average of .75 - 1" a month.

Lil Bastages tho......Love my Texas!

I would say they grow at an average rate. 1" per month would be fast, and anything less than 1/2" per month being slow. I bought mine almost one year ago. When I got him, he was 1/2". Now he's about 6. So mine grew around 1/2" per month. Beautiful fish though. Love them. Mine is a true texas cichlid. The 'green' texas should grow at pretty much the same rate though.

I got mine smaller than my Jag, RD, and Jack. He still has grown very well and more than holds his own. Made the mistake last time to get him the same size as everyone, and he (Past Tex) almost killed everyone at 5". Watch the Aggro, IMHO very underated in the aggression area.

:D
