I just received 80lbs of nice lace rock and I'm going to be re-aquascaping my 55g with it tonight. I currently have about 60lbs of Texas Holey Rock in there and know that it buffers my PH a bit. I'd say my tap water is around 7.2 and the current tank PH is around 7.8. I'm not using any other additives to raise PH (crushed coral, etc).

I was wondering if Lace rock buffers PH at all? I've read conflicting things online. I just wanted to make sure if I remove all the THR and add the Lace tonight, would I have a drop in PH that could be harmful to my AC's?

I am going to add some crushed coral to my filters but won't get some until the weekend.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Appreciate the info everyone. I tested my tap water again today and it's actually lower than I had thought, more like a 6.6-6.8. I guess maybe I should wait until the weekend so I can offset a drop by adding crushed coral to the filter media.
