I lost the discussion with my wife (big surprise) about getting rid of the Demonsoni that she likes (she calls them blue bumble bees). So I set up a 100G just for them with A LOT of Texas holey rock (THR) that they like to play in. The trouble is that this tank is on a 4 aquarium (up to 125G each) double high - back to back rack on a common sump. The other 3 tanks are full of driftwood and plecos.

I've had mixed luck in the past with plecos and THR:

OK Adons and BN

Mixed L190 & L330

Bad snowball & tigers

All my other plecos have never been in with THR

So I put an Ehime 2260 on it and keep the water level low so it isn't tied into the pump. The problem is it is ugly, one more filter to clean and the cost of electricity. I don't want to stress the other plecos so I'm wondering how your plecos got along with THR?

In my 125 with lots of holey rock in it. My 2 L026 and 4 L114s and 3 L134s and 1 L018 and 2 L036s Do just fine in there lots of little spots for them all to claim and hide in. The only pleco that didn't do good in there was my L095, he is a monster and the p.h. was a liitle to high for him to handle. I also have a U.V. on that tank to keep it clean

Look into l204 flash plecos. Might do great in your tank.

I personally would not keep wood eating species in a tank full of rock. My L204 does not do well in tanks without lots of wood. It's also just about the messiest pleco I've ever kept. Just my experience and 2 c

My tank has a good amount of wood in it too. It will for sure help keep the plecos happy.
