Thought I would post latest pic...hatched 1st week of march 2013...about 6 inch now....dark because he fears the big midas across the divider... I think he has a great profile for fish without a hump...

Nice.
Reminds me of my old texas that would breed with my blue jene jd. The female (jd) killed the male and about 4 months later all of the fry and the mom died in a power outage. It was a sad, sad day.

Not shy but wary.... Initially very responsive as a small fry but I kept some fish from my daughter with him that were skittish and he took on that trait... He's cautious because I've been in and out of his tank with net.. As he was growing he was pretty bold though... Attempted to court his mother and sparring lip locking for dominance with his father on different occasions.... Moved into my 150 divided tank with a big midas on one side and went dark... Getting back to his previous self though and eating well at this time....

Make it easy to take pics...even though he is dark to stay less noticed he stays mid water with his fins extended....
