Can a single cichlid in the tank lye eggs and what would the fish look like if it was? 2 year old Texas in a 55. not sure if there is a problem or if this Texas is lying eggs.

No.

Well If there isn't a male fertilizing the eggs then they won't hatch. Also, female cichlids are known to lay eggs without a male, its not an odd thing.

Im not so sure about that after looking on you tube. This is a clear whitish bubble, it does not look like a tube coming from the fish but a bubble of some sort sourronding that area. The fish is not acting normal. it just kinda wants to stay against something and hover on the bottom like it is leaning on the bottom to stay in place. If move something at it the fish will move out of the way and then go right back to were it was. Im worried this might be serious.

She just laid eggs, correct? If she did then thats her breeding tube. Just keep a watch over her.

Thanks for answer me Water,
I'm not sure that she did lay eggs. I'm not even sure this is a female. I don't know is it normal for them to lay eggs with out a mate in the tank? I was kinda hoping that is what it was and not some kind of infection. may be if i got a clearer picture would you know if breeding tube or not? would the fish be sluggish now?
