Texas male or female

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
im no expert either but i would say female because of the round fins like you said but also because from what iv seen males have a higher body and more pronounced forehead while females bodies are slimmer and have slanting head (someone please correct me if this is wrong)

You cannot sex cichlids by how pointed or round their fins are. That convict in your video has long pointed fins and it's a female lol.

I don't see any black colors on it's dorsal so also going with male.

I'm no expert on sexing texas but wait for some better advice the guy above didn't help you at all.

You'll need to post some vent shots for a 100% accurate sex.

I said it's a male. There's a question and I answered it. :screwy:

Do you mean pronounced forehead as in having a nuchal hump?

Are you sure, someone just told me its a female because of the round fins..
I have 2 females and a male looking lovely in my tank right now. The 2 females are that size and the male is like 5x bigger. Not looking at the fins, your fish is built like a male. So it looks like a male and I say it's a male.

I guess im going to have to buy two more texas like a male and a female to be 100prece t positive, are they easy to breed?
