Lol I was looking at your RTM and I was like that's no Texas! Then I saw yours ROFL! RTM just looks so sweet I didn't notice the texasThanks for the replies and info. I got this other one that was sold as H. Cyanoguttatus. (I'm guessing female) but I'm having second thoughts looks like the larger male.

Although the differences between cyannoguttatus and carpintus can appear subtle, they are not twin species.
And although misinformed LFSs sell them both as Texas cichlids, carpintus is not from Texas.
Its as if. since you are from southern California, are you called a Mexican?
Or if you are from Veracruz, are you a Texan?
Sorry if that sounds anal, but I find misnomers a bit irritating.
