Texas or Green Texas?

How about some scientific names? That's the problem with common names. I'm assuming you want Herichthys cyanoguttatus, which is the more northern species.

As for which texas is the cyano, I couldn't tell you. I've seen both cyano's and carpintis' labeled as both.

just depends i think neither are expensive at all from what ive seen but cyno texas are generally larger and more aggro than carpintis but i think carpintis are much prettier

Sounds like you want the normal Texas. The Green Texas is a little smaller and is mostly collected in Mexico, though very beautiful.

the carpinits has tha greenish spots and the cyano has the rgualr whitish/grey spots. from what i have read the carpin and cyano are the same fish but are from a different river/tributaries in the mexico/SE united states region. the carpinitis "escondido" have developed larger spots but is the same as the regualr carpinits it is just seperated in a different river system and developed the larger spots . I dont know about the size comparison between the two but i have a cyano non carpintis and she has green spots on her gill plate and spots starting to turn a greenish on the rest of her body. a friend of mine a while back had a cyano and it grew very quickly.

hmm, it would be nicer to see the fish and the prices seem very cheap. either way if you order a few, you'll probably be happy with them once they start to grow and get color whichever species you get. Just make sure you dont get hybrids.
