I got this guy in April of 2006. I have to say that the Texas cichlid has been one of my favorite fish to own. Very personable, very active, and very bold. I've housed him with several different kinds of CA's and SA's, and he's tolerated most, and was tough enough to survive with all. Here's a little tribute to the time I've dedicated to my #1 stunna - Titus.
I have some earlier photos but they are low quality. I was learning to shoot against the aquarium. Here he's roughly 5".
All of the early pictures are shot with flash because I hadn't learned to manipulate the shutter speed. He looks good, but his true colors are washed out by the flash.
Here is my first successful attempt to shoot without flash. Its pretty dark, but his true colors are more visible now.
One of my favorite pics of Titus. Almost looks like he's posing for the shot.
Starting to develop a nice nuchal hump here...
These shots aren't current, but probably only 6 months old or so. He's really beefed up and grown into his body. I am very pleased with how he turned out.
Titus.
