My Texas holy rock has green spots on it, is this algae? My pleco keeps a good job of keeping the algae to a minimum but the rock has remained the same for awhile now, I noticed the same thing when I introduce various sea shells to the tank that I collect along the beach shore, after a few months they would eventual turn green, Is this common, or is it something I should be concerned about?

Nothing to worry about. Eventually all rock, including Texas Holey rock gets a coating of algae. Personally, I think the THR looks better & more natural with algae.
My main tank is full of big chunks of THR. I recently added a new, very white THR rock. The other THR's in the tank were that white several years ago. Lol.20190217_213301.jpg

Agree with the others, very normal, and good for the tank, because algae uses up nuisance nutrients that degrade water quality.
Many fish such as non-pisvores cichlids, and live bearers eat it, and is a significant part of their diet.
I try to promote its growth on rocks and wood whenever I can.
