My 3" texas at first was always swimming around chasing the little jag around, now, he just sits on the black sand bed, fins clasped to its body, and only breathing. He moves, but rarely. What is this he's doing, and should I worry?

is there enough o2 in the tank and is he gettin picked on by the jag...also does he seem to hav any parasites on him..

Naw the jag isnt picking on him, the jag doesnt dare bully the texas as of now. And I examined the texas closely, there doesnt seem to be any parasites or anything out of the ordinary on his body. Im gonna test my water params.

I tested my water params, and ammonia - 0.25, nitrite - 0.25, and nitrate - 0?

That's weird, because it was fully cycled on my 29gal and I transferred it over to my 50gal. The AC50 says its good for the 50gal tank, but then again my fish are messy, and its only temporary until my media comes in for my eheim 2128 thermofilter. And, I had a power outtage few days ago, I think that may also have killed some bacteria off?

Again the ac50 is only temporary, and the canister should be up and running soon.

So are my water params harmful as of now?

u should be good for know until ur enheim is setup..just do a mild water change and keep an eye on him..

Yea his colors do look a bit different, he's a bit more brown. I'm not sure if it's from the driftwood I added recently or not.

Hm I doubt it, the jag is smaller than the jag and always runs away. I see no injury on either cichlid so hm. Also the recently added malaysian driftwood had some slime coat on it growing day by day, I rubbed it off and it resembles big wet pieces of flake food, weird looking. What is this growing on the driftwood?
