My new texas pair have recently spawn, and fry are now free swimming, however the parents haven't eaten anything for 3 weeks now. Should I be worried?

Holy wow!!!!! That’s a HUGE spawn!!! Are you offering the parents sinking food? When my cichlids would spawn they wouldn’t come to the surface to feed. They would only eat foods that sank to them. Probably not wanting to leave their offspring.

No just floating pellets, but will try sinking. Thanks for the tip. Hopefully this will work as I'm getting annoyed having to scoop out the uneaten pellets 20min later.

Hello SaltyPlum SaltyPlum ,
That is a beautiful pair you have there. That's a massive amount of fry. Your fish really look like H.Carpintis to me. Sinking pellets sounds like a good idea Man-made Monsters Man-made Monsters . Hope everything works out for you and your fish. GL
