hey guys/girls i was wondering if a texas would work with a jack dempsey (by work i mean not kill each other and/or potentially breed). also i was wondering if a red tiger would "work" with a texas or a jack. any feedback is welcom, as long as its not one of those stupid arguments.:nilly: :nilly: :nilly: :nilly:

yes they should be ok if in a big tank i think they might breed, but the red tiger i havent got a clue sorry

a texas and a jd would be fine together, being that they are both very plasid medium-large cichlids, when you throw a red tiger, or any Parachromis, into the mix, you may be asking for trouble, it'll probly work out fine, but there will probly be also accesonal, <(sp) scuffles.

i agree it can work and the texas might end up as the dominating fish in my experience

Really depends on the texas cichlid to be honest.
as some texas can be very aggressive. and i have seen 2" texas take on 4" convicts and win.
then again my old (now RIP) 10" texas was very placid
Motags could be the main aggressor in that tank.
