Texas?

My own happy little world
Hi folks,

Can anyone tell me if this is a Texas/cyano/carpitinsis? I am new to these fish and just cant tell the difference. The fish is about 8" including tail for reference.

Im pretty bad at deciphering these guys but I too would guess Carp.

I actually wanted to just say that he is awesome! LOL
 
It's a regular variant Carpinte, and by the looks, a male. Look at its dorsal and if it has a black splotch on it it's female, I don't see one so I'm guessing male. Venting is always a fore sure thing though.
 
yup its a carpintis. texas is just a common name, better to not even use this name
