TFH August 2008 AD: Stingray

One of our primary goals at the onset of MonsterFishKeepers.com was to promote captive breeding in order to ease the depeletion of the wild population. This month we are going to showcase a passionate hobbyist who has turned into one of the top ray breeders in the country. I would like to give many thanks to H20 Custom Aquatics for producing these sought after stingrays which are now available to hobbyists.

Supporting our local and national clubs and conventions is one of our goals too! This dedication is shown in our support of the inaugural event International Symphosium on Freshwater Stingrays Biology. We encourage all of you to sign up!

This is definately something to truely be commended! Too often nowadays we are dealing with greedy collectors, irresponsible distributors and ill equipped retail outfits that know little to nothing about these animals, and ultimately play a large role in captive stress induced disease and death. It's so very important that we learn to not only care for these animals, but to also find ways to make them responsibly available, protect the natural resources, and spread education to all. This is an amazing accomplishment, one which should absolutely be honored in our community!!!
