dudes i was just at a fish and plant auction held by the San Diego Tropical Fish Society and someone auctioned off all of their old TFH magazines. a span of like 6 years in the mid 80's and then a span of a few years in the 90's and get this......it sold for 27 freakin dollars. i had to sit there and watch in disgust as my wallet already fell prey to a few prior items and i was broke. $27. wow. if that was my collection i would have felt like i got slapped in the face with someone only paying 27 dollars for all of those magazines which were all in mint condition. i couldnt believe more people werent bidding on it. i wanted to freak out and try and make a mad dash for the atm machine about a quarter mile away but figured if i did all that just to get back and have it already sold would definitely kill me. so sorry to jack your thread but when i saw you were looking for back issues i had to tell my story.
ha thats a good story but mine will make you sick i threw out a few mores years then that back in the early ninetys had no choice i needed a small room for my mags and i had to move cross country ..
Waw that story about the auction is gonna make me turn to alcohol. What a kick in the slats. Wish I was there, but you know if someone were to throw out a bid of like fifty bucks, someone would have said, crap maybe these are worth something, I bid $100.00 and then someone else and so on and so on.
