Tropical Fish Hobbyist Magazine October 2006 Issue page 25:

There is a question regarding the proper spelling of the word AROWANA. In the reply, they say that Asian Aros are legal in the US if you have certified captive bred animals.

It's hard to understand why such a top notch magazine would offer incorrect information as to the legality of keeping these fish.

Why are they banned anyway? Especially captive bred ones? If the ban is lifted congrats to all the aro fans, and I read that too in the mag.
