I signed up for TFH, and received a free book today. It is pretty good for beginners, but I got a kick out of the "33 species to avoid" list

1) archerfish
2) south american arowana
3) bichir
4) exodon paradoxus
5) butterfly fish
6) bumblebee goby
7) chaca chaca
8) chinese algae eater
9) cichla
10) electric catfish
11) elephant noses/baby whales
12) fei fengs
13) fossil cat (Hetropneustes fossilis)
14) giant gourami
15) goldfish
16) halfbeak
17) irridescent shark
18) monos
19) mudskipper
20) pacu
21) pike cichlids
22) red belly piranha
23) puffers
24) red tail catfish
25) ropefish
26) scat
27) silver dollar
28) snakehead
29) sterlet
30) datnioids
31) tiger shovelnose catfish
32) columbian sharks
33) walking catfish

I am sure we can all agree that these are the scourges of the fish world :screwy::ROFL:

Haha!

I have four TFH mags from the '70's one talks about breeding "Show grade mollies"

Attack that's funny.. lol

lol glad BB Grouper isn't on that list.. As a noob I can go ahead and place my order..

(Guessing they were thinking of fish that are common LFS fish, are pretty affordable, and get larger than small starter tanks?)

it also explains why certain species shouldn't be kept. You would crack up

what about my panther grouper who will get like 3 feet and my green moay who will get 6' +
