So I had some downtime and decided to snap some pics of my 50g. Current inhabitants are Paroon shark, Geophagus Balzani, and Motoro ray.

Hunting for blackworms

Unfortunetly I didn't plan ahead very well. I left my heater in a vertical fashion after the ray was introduced. Surely, a newb mistake. The ray was burned and the affected area detatched itself. The ray now has a quarter sized chunk missing from its disk. Hopefully it grows back? You can see it in this pic.

Thanks to a generous gesture, my 10g saw a new arrival as well. A small B.Juruense. I love these cats. Can't beat free! A little ragged and skinny, but I will load up on guppies until its big enough for mp.

if that portion that got burnt even heals, its gonna take a long long while. mines got burnt from a previous owner before me, and i've had it for almost 2 months now and the guy before me had it for almost a month, so basically 3 months and almost no difference. shes gettin bigger, it doesn't affect her, just no sign of the portion growing back. awesome ray tho and cool fake tig

Damn, the response I wasn't looking forward to reading. Either way, this ray has a ton of personality and is an asset none the less. I can't wait for him to grow out a little more and motivate me to go bigger!

is it male or female? my friend told me females grow quicker, and boy can i vouch for that. my female probably grew almost 2" around on ur disc and almost 3" on ur tail within the last 2 months. eats like a pig, goes crazy when someone tries to steal her food from her... stingrays are one of the coolest fw species to keep.

Male. I haven't "broken him in" just yet. In the past I've noticed it takes a week before they turn into the characteristic eating machines they are!

Yeah its got a ton of personaliy. Really cheap too. I paid under $10 from Shark Aquarium.

Poor ray ....It'll prob take a while for that to fully grow back. Not to mention that it may not grow perfectly and the patterning won't match.

Its okay. I at least expect that. Its eating blackworms like a fiend so it shouldn't be too long before I've got him eating shrimp and squid like a champ.

On another note, I just noticed my Geo has one eye! Paroon or ray, who's the culprit?
