Hello , I got my thai silk when he was under an inch November 2015, now it's about a year after that and he's 7 inches, about 4 months ago he got a case of hexamita which I treated and got rid of within 2 months time, just curious now that's he over a year old will he top out at 7 - 8 inches? I give him a variety of food cichlid gold pellets, spiralina pellets, and even 2 cubes of blood worms a day, I'm getting worried he'll never outgrow 7inches.

I had no idea he was a short body, so he'll only grow another inch or so? In person he doesn't look so short in comparison to other flowerhorns, how the temperament on yours? Shy in any way?

thanks for the info and beautiful flowerhorns btw, i akways wanted to try breeding my thai silk to another cichlid or flowerhorn, any suggestions? also is he ready to breed?

Thai silks are so inbred it's harder for them to be fertile but can be! Try it can neber hurt any Central American will work

i never knew that about thai silks, only problem with any central american is it would need to be a big female to be able to handle his aggression, ive tried with texas cichlids he doesnt even wanna breed just to kill

It's a short body mate... He will be more muscular but don't expect him to grow more say maximum of 8 inches.

You should try his fertility with a female parrot just to try him out

Do you think I should put a divider first then introduce the two of them?
