I just got a green texas from Thailand a couple weeks ago and he's only eating FBW. It's been a couple weeks since he's eaten anything. I've tried soaking the in FBW juice, but he still won't eat. He's been very stubborn. Should I just stay strong and keep trying the pellets?

Here is a pic of him from the breeder in Thailand: ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1388633262.612078.jpg

He looks skinny...feed him fwb until he is strong enough then train him eats pellet again...needs time

The sooner you stop giving him FBW the sooner he will convert to pellets. IMO I would stop feeding FBW altogether, and keep offering him some pellets soaked in FBW juice until he figures out that's all he's getting. Stay strong.

Thank you RD, I'm at work right now and haven't fed him FBW for about two weeks. I am staying strong with this guy, he is just being very very stubborn. I haven't given him any b/c I figured if I continued to give them to him, he will continue thinking that's what he is always going to get. I am just a little nervous b/c it has been two weeks and he still won't accept. Didn't know how long I should starve him. Btw, he is in a 75 gallon all by himself so he doesn't seem to stressed. When I ever I try and feed I always sit right in front of the tank hoping he will correlate me to food. Thanks again RD

Maybe try a different type/brand of pellet? hard to say what might trigger a feed response. You could also ask the vendor/breeder, although I suspect that they fed a LOT of blood worms seeing as they are in Thailand.

I picked up 4 texas fry that wouldn't eat anything but freeze dried bloodworms until I threw them into a community tank. You can imagine the feeding frenzy in the community tank that triggered the little guys to also eat. Now, I have 2 that refuse to eat pellets and I sparingly throw in bloodworms for them. Their growth have been stunted for being so stubborn compared to the other 2.

I would also suggest trying different brands.

BTW - by other type/brand I meant floating vs sinking, as well as possibly different brands.
