You find out and tell me I want one also. They are called monsterfish in the pet stores I think right. They are almost like a freshwater thin frogfish, but full of AWESOMENESS!!!
A lfs near me had one at one point. Express interest to a lfs owner and they might be able to order one for you. The list of thing they can order but dont due to lack of interest is staggering.
briefly had one that I ordered when I worked for a chain store, but it never ate and died shortly...look pretty cool and are pure FW
I never knew the scientific name till now. I also seen one at a LFS and went there with money later that week and it "was gone" One store owner, I think he may be losing it

Cool little fish. The problem with ordering them in for an LFS is that they aren't bred but mostly collected from the wild. So the LFS either has to be doing a South American order to add some to, or wait for one of it's wholesalers to bring in an SA order. We used to sell em for 25 or 40 bucks, depending on size.
Looks just like a marine stonefish, and has a mildly venomous spine on top. I and another staff member both got infections from being stung by one. Funny story, we were moving them and someone bumped into the guy carrying one, he got stung, dropped it and I got stung catching it before it hit the floor lol.

Ha, man that sucks. I though that they are venomous on top. Another thing with ordering from pet stores (my locals at least) is they never know what they are getting, or what they are going to get.
I was trying to get payara and the lady says she can get them got like 5.99. so she orders, bocktooth tetra, exo's. and red tail tat<red tail cat, but that one got caught. haha. But we do have a rare order list to what they are used to.
