I wanted to thank every one for their advice, about my delima with the Tinfoil barb.
You where 100% correct from the moment he touched down in the water he started to school with his big cousin bala sharks. Well that is after Gimli (Oscar 7") and legolas (Texas 5.5") Gave him the welcome home chase.
All three new arrivals where greeted in similar fashion by my two adolescent cichlids. I thought for sure the baby jack dempsy was a goner Gimli almost ate him but he is fat and slow, and the JD is young and fast; and escaped to the caves. After a few hours all the fish have an understanding and there are no more I am going to eat you chases. Feeding time is survival of the fittest the bala sharks have finally had enough and eat regardless of Gimli trying to bully them; all the small fish eat the crumbs.
Yes my tank is named after LOTR but hey my wife named it, and what ever makes her feel a little bit apart of my obsession is good.
