Got a new raphael last night and Prazi'd her. This morning, swirling on the floor in the current are two white roundworms which couldn't have come from anywhere but her. So should I do six days instead of three and maybe soak her food in prazi, too? I've never gotten such instant results.

personally I wouldn't do anything different then normal.. but I would treat her again in another month or so just to make sure. That is what I have done a few times w/ my fish. and knock on wood have never lost one from it. I'de worry about not so much the chemicals.. but when worming animals that seemingly infested.. the worms/parasites will often die in the fishes system.. and cause potential compactions as well. so worming them "standardly" decreases the chance you'll deal w/ any compactions. then doing a follow-up in a month allows for the fish to recover abit before flushing the system compleately. I'm sure if this is "exactly how it works" But I also have horses.. which are very different from fish. But I've seen this happen to them on multiple occasions. So I'm wary of similar effect on my fish.

:iagree: The second deworming in one month will be key as it will take care of any eggs that hatched. Prazi-pro is know to be absorbed by freshwater fish well so treating the food would be too much medication.

If you were treating for gill flukes then I'd say maybe to an extend single treatment as they can be difficult to kick.

Okay, so let these three days end, do water changes like normal and then do another course in a few weeks? Wouldn't that give eggs time to hatch and reestablish? I thought it was best to prolong treatment so that after the adults die, the eggs hatch and also die all in the same slap.

This is how we treat in the animal hospital as well. It has to do with the length of time it takes the eggs to hatch. As for water changes, I would just do your normal water changes.
