Okay... the Bichir bug has bitten me, again. The first time was short lived and I only kept them for about a month and was bored..... but hopefully this time will be a bit different!

I purchased 2 - 3" Endli Bichirs today and I'm pretty excited! I'm looking for more as a matter of fact! They're currently in a small holding container until I get a small 10-20 gallon growout tank set up for them! (Holding tanks are great for impulse buys huh? :naughty:)

Any suggestions? Gravel with anubis plants... low light, good filtration.... etc.?
 
add sand instead of gravel looks more natural,if youwant addsome plants/driftwood
 
Welcome to bichir world cichlid boy!

Treat them the same way you would those beautiful CA/SA cichlids, only with lower light levels, and you should be fine.

Some kind of shaded area or hiding spot is good, but I've seen them kept in bright bare bottom tanks too.

Thanks for the tip.... so much for the thread about Endli growth rate! I guess the guy that bought them can continue it since SOMEONE didn't sell them to me...... :irked:

Well, if your panties weren't bunched enough already, then you're really gonna get a wedgie when I tell you that I kept the dark one! :ROFL:

I can't sell it though because it's markings have meaning to a friend of mine. :D

So I'm going to continue the progression thread with this little one:

Have fin rasing these guys or girl. they are alot of fun. i got 7 dino ell and 1 ornate and 1 echi very fun fish to have

I always knew you like them dark.:D It's all good bro. Is that one from me or from ghettoville? There were a few I got from XCuter looked like this pattern.;)
