no one has and idea about how long i need to keep the old filter running on the tank before its safe to just use the new filter?
keep checking the water levels, when they are stable, then you can take out the old filter. I would recommend a month or so.

Yes i moved the stock from my 150 tall to my 150 long which i took some measurements because they didnt look right .. and its a 130 not a 150 but thats ok. and the 150 tall is going to have 2 rays maybe a arowana and P-bass if i can find everything small. and its going to be a grow out for my larger tank that im building.
i see you took my advice about the royal knife, i just bote one today. you should get a gold clown knife and a regular clown knife so they can play with the royal.

so i hear everything from 1 week - 2-3 months .. i used all the same rocks and stone same water and everything just moved it to the new tank with the Fx5 .. still think i need to wait so long before i can put the filter back on the old tank and start to re stock and cycle the tank
