Joey you are my diy hero!!!!!!! LOL you inspired me to do several diy filters they work great too. Have not graduated to tanks as of yet though maybe some day.

I see i commented in that thread back then as well.... Well, the advice i gave is what i did in this build believe it or not. Minus the fibreglass, i went a different route with water proofing.

I remember wanting to do this back in 07/08... and started to research in 09... finally took it serious and did it in 2012.... crazy.. took me almost 5 years to actually do it! lol.... Too many builds to count in between though... Im not sure if i like building tanks, or if i like building them out of different things more at this point.

PS: This tank is built out of a pair of 130 gallon second hand tanks i picked up cheap. they WERE 72x18x24 tanks... took them apart for the cheap glass and put them together in this one.
 
Thanks alot for posting. I didn't know you were a member of this site. I just watch videos of you on youtube but this is a very interesting project. I'm willing to consider this for my next upgrade but you know how it is when people haven't any experience in doing these things are. I'm looking forward to this series of videos!

Yeah, I can't wait to see this finished! I'm curious how your going to support the upper pieces of glass. It doesn't look like you have any kind of support. I was planing on "euro bracing" the top.

Also are you drilling into the plywood for the filter?

Are you planing some kind of cover for the tank to keep jumpers in and help with evaporation?

I just love this build! Thanks again for posting and answering my questions!
