So heres a good story.....Yesterday i had just purchased a newly crayfish from my LFS, hes about 3-3.5inches long. Hes in a 30 gallon tank, driftwood, plants, etc...So last night I went to bed at about 5am(had a party) and at about 8am I was woken up by my sister yelling at me," come come, your crayfish is in the bathroom!!"
Now being a little hungover and running on 3hrs of sleep, I didnt understand and just got outta my bed and went into the bathroom. And by my surprise, there he was!! my crayfish was on the floor sitting infront of my toilet!:nilly: Now he was still alive, but he was very dry and barely moving. I picked up him and put him back into the tank immedietly.
Now this was about a 10-15 feet from my tank to the bathroom. The only thing I can think of is that he climbed my driftwood, then climbed the airline tubing, and then squeezed past my acrylic covers that have an opening for my filter and dropped from the tank and walked that whole distance! I just couldnt believe it lol, he is a trooper! As I make this thread too, hes actually on the tubing now lol. I tried to cover my tank better so he wont get out again, but it was quite an interesting story to be told the next day lol

Ya, they do tend to do that. Make sure nothing is close to ad teh top of the tank so that thaey can't chlimb out of the tank when your nottt looking.

I had something similar happen with my african clawed frog. She jumped out one night and I couldnt find her. I figured the dog ate her but a few weeks later while cleaning the house i found her downstairs under the couch dried up. :(
